December Oil of the Month: Frankincense

Frankincense, the ‘King of Oils’, brings feelings of peace and wellness. Boasting many modern health benefits when used topically or internally, it’s soothing and beautifying properties rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections.

It feels fitting to feature Frankincense for December given its fame within the New Testament as a gift bore by the Wisemen. Throughout history, Frankincense resin has been used for everything from perfume to soothing skin salves.

Its potent aroma is woody, earthy, and spicy with a fruity nuance. As a result, when used aromatically, it strengthens and invigorates the respiratory system. Additionally, when ingested, it promotes a healthy immune and nervous system function.

Its uses range from soothing sore and tired joints to reducing the appearance of skin imperfections. Aromatically, defuse Frankincense by adding 2-3 drops to your diffuser or adding a drop or two on your hands, cupping them and taking several deep breaths. Topically, dilute with fractionated coconut oil and add to sore and tired joints or to smooth and soothe the skin. To ingest, add 1 drop to 4 fluid ounces of water.

If you have any questions about how you can use Frankincense or how to order it, just let me know!
